Choosing A Site Name

This site could have had many different titles:

  • Jewish Ancestors
  • Jewish German (Reformers)
  • Jewish Merchants
  • Jewish Genes
  • Ancestral Connections
  • Merchants, Artisans and Children of David
  • Jewish GGGGGGGGGGGG-Grandmothers

And the current title may be radically changed (updated 3 September 2018); when I get a better focus as to what I want the site title to convey.

I would say at least four direct ancestral (family) lines have strong ancestral connections to an area of Germany prior to 1066, 4 cities in particular,  which were known for their thriving Hebrew/Jewish communities.

  1. MAINTZ
  2. WORMS
  3. Kandel – home to the SILVERS (SILBERS) family; who migrated to North carolina in the mid-to-late 1700.
  4. Sperey (SPIEIR) – I believe to be the homeland and name-sake of the Speer/Spear family who migrated and settled in the South Eastern US.
  5. Rhine River Valley (region).
  6. Palantate region.

This will evolve, so for the title is good enough for the first little while.

Thank you, for visiting.
